My friend Amy and I took a walk through her childhood neighbourhood. She told me how she had always loved these two buildings, feeling drawn to them since she was a small child - she knew she was close to grandad Bill’s home when she spotted them from the car window.

I wanted these flat blocks to frame her, to make her look tall,and grown-up.

When I told her the framing was perfect, she took a deep breath, soaking in the sun. I felt emotional.
