Honorable Mention
I spent 3 months documenting the aftermath of the Dana of Valencia, Spain, that happened last 29 of October 2024. The biggest flooding in Europe on the last 70 years. This photograph shows an instant of a building, 2 weeks after the flooding. The territory had been transformed for ever in only several hours. Leaving this kind of terrifying scenes that lasted months until cleaning. I captured all these unfolded scenes of temporality to build an archive and to remind us of the importance of the climate crisis. It is about territory, community, memory and sudden change that can affect us all in one way or the other. The project is also an hommage to the resilience and solidarity that rose up until today, to help the people affected. Help that came from all over the country to attend the aftermath of the water. The image can be printed at a very large scale format, up to 6 meters. The idea is to present a type of work that differs from what we see on the news, and that the scale and quantity of detail may impress the spectator differently than seeing it in tv, phones or newspapers.
