In this photograph was taken during Summer solstice festival in Yakutia, remote province in northern Russia. Sakha people join hands in a traditional osuokhai circle dance—an expression of unity, endurance, and cultural pride for a new year worshiping the Sun and White nights. Dressed in vibrant traditional clothes, each gesture and glance reflects a lifetime of connection to land, ancestry, and one another. All of them are looking at the lead singer who creates lyrics right at the moment and all of the people of the circle repeat them line by line.The open sky and grassy plain evoke the vastness of the Sakha landscape, while the rhythm of the dance echoes through the valley.
