The images I submitted are a selection of images from 3 series that were part of my project ‘Mustangs’. These stories were based on my own ‘coming of age’ experiences, growing up in a small dutch town at ‘de Veluwe’. All images are shot in this same environment.
These series are stories without a head or tail, allowing the viewer to form their own story.
As a photographer I photograph snapshots from the lives of mostly young people and people from subcultures. Fragments from films, but photographed.
They are fictional portraits in which I let the models play a role, but in which I leave room for improvisation. In this way I look for intimate and raw moments and I balance between fiction and reality.
My interest in outsiders, music and films are often an inspiration and a certain atmosphere is leading.
Cinematic and fragmentary with a fashionable approach.
