This project was born from a simple question I find myself asking more and more often: How are we doing? How do we feel in a country that seems to change faster than we can keep up with?

I photograph people in different parts of Slovakia. Everyone I approach receives their portrait printed on the spot and writes me a short message - whatever they carry inside. It might be a memory, a feeling, an opinion, or just something they want to say. The result is a growing collection of portraits and voices that reflect what we’re going through as a society. Not through statistics or reports, but through real people and their view of the world.

I’m doing this project at a time when Slovakia stands at a crossroads. Politics is shifting in a direction that worries many. I go to protests, watch people, listen to them. I feel tension, but also hope. I want to understand what we’re experiencing—and capture it. Not as commentary, but as a portrait. As a question I ask everyone—including myself.
