Analog photography is a form of contemplation for me. It helps me be.

21 Grams is a body of work created over four years during my hospitalizations in psychiatric institutions. It is part of a broader project including 21 photographs, multimedia objects, and a theoretical thesis titled The Soul and Mental Health through the Prism of Photography – a deep exploration of the connection between visual art, human sensitivity, and inner healing. The title symbolically refers to the weight of the human soul.

The tenderness with which I capture fellow patients and simple daily moments helps me to see – and to offer – presence, acceptance, and quiet kindness. This subjective document opens space for introspection and for dialogue about mental health. The duality of strength and fragility helps shape our shared humanity. Photography, for me, is a layered tool – one that allows us to resonate with ourselves and with the world. I create because I believe that shared vulnerability can carry us closer to truth and to one another.

I believe that photography, as an art form, holds the power to illuminate, to soften, and to heal the soul.
