Artist Statement – Sissel Annett
From an early age, Sissel Annett became a keeper of stories, carrying the emotions of others as they confided in her. This deep connection with human experiences led her to seek a way to express the weight and beauty of those emotions.
Her ongoing project, Emotional Alchemy, is a visual exploration of transformation—how pain, fear, and struggle can evolve into healing and love. Through her photography, Sissel captures the raw depth of human emotion, creating portraits that serve as chapters in a universal narrative.
