This project is dedicated to the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry (Stroganovka),which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year.Over the past couple of years,I’ve been taking portraits of my father—currently a teacher at Stroganovka—within its walls,as well as documentary shots of everyday life at the institute.I wanted to tell a very personal story about my family within this project.That's why I used my family archive,which contains a large number of photographs taken at Stroganovka in the 1970s,when my parents and their friends were students of this University.It was here that my parents met and fell in love.I wanted to combine my contemporary images with archival photographs to create a space where generations meet.Some of the persons at these photos are already gone.It's interesting that when I created this project I first made several photoshoots in the University.Later on I found a big archive with photos from 1970s.So I never made any special new photos to fit the old ones.This project is my tribute to a place that has not only been a cradle of inspiration for many generations,but also played an important role in my family’s history.
