"Vim como Água, Parto Como Vento" was my attempt to come closer - and let go. Through images, landscapes, and memories, the project becomes a search to sharpen the outline of the man behind the paternal figure. It is in this gesture — of wanting to draw nearer to the man, to history, to the self — that the work takes shape.
By weaving together archival photographs, personal images, and visual records produced along an intimate path of mutual goodbyes, the project explores photography as a thread connecting time and emotion. These images attempt to touch — to touch the doubt, the silence, the things that may never be fully seen, yet persist in being present.
Landscapes appear both as stage and mirror: silent witnesses that hold the echoes of this act of closeness. Each visited place becomes the picture of an emotional territory, an attempt to map where, when, and how one might feel nearer to someone who is no longer here.
"Vim como Água, Parto Como Vento" is a way of being closer to the memories that shape us and the fragility with which photography allows us to hold traces of who we were, who we loved, and who we are trying to understand.
