Space after Spactacle
In South Korea, apartments symbolize success and modernity. But behind their clean facades lies a spectacle of erasure and control.
This series captures high-rise construction as a metaphor for housing alienation. Old hillside homes vanish, replaced by towers sold more as assets than shelters. The result is a space legally owned but emotionally distant.
Inspired by Guy Debord’s idea of the “spectacle,” these images show how capitalism turns homes into products and people into spectators. Confusing signs, tangled wires, and covered sites reflect a hidden system that shapes how we live.
These photos do not document architecture. They question what “home” means in a society ruled by speed, capital, and disconnection.
