Through the Noise

Olkhon is my home island in the waters of Lake Baikal, combining bits and pieces from all over the continent. So varied natural motifs fit into its small area that sometimes it seems as if scraps of steppes, forests, deserts are skillfully sewn with threads of rocky ridges into a single canvas.

I would like to enter into a dialogue with that vulnerable and humble side of the island that cannot be discerned in a hurry, at the first meeting. I would like to portray the island's quiet voice, which is almost inaudible in the noise of the current time's flow.

As I'm trying to understand both myself through the island and island trough myself, my reflection will inevitably appear in this story, and I can see, that Olkhon is clearly reflected in me.

P.S. This long-term project is put on a hold as I have no physical access to the island. This contest is first exposure to the public for many of the shots
