The Catholic Church plays a major role in the lives of many Polish people. Its influence on politics should not be underestimated - this was especially omnipresent for woman in the times of the PIS government. Since the abortion ban of October 2020, the situation of women in Poland is more precarious than before. Many people took the streets during the Black Protests to demonstrate for the right to self-determination over their own bodies. But even now, after the elections of 15 October 2023, the situation hasn't really changed. The big question now is whether the Tusk government will keep its promise to liberalise the abortion law or not. "How many more woman have to die?“
