"Perfect Strangers" is a collection of photos that I bought at street markets and online, without realizing that I was making a collection of them. They are people to whom I am not attached emotionally or physically. Strangers that I observe with lightness and relief because I can no longer look at my personal albums; over the years my family has been lost, too many have disappeared, as happens to everyone, and the memory hurts. So I began to immerse myself in this crowd of unknown people: perfect strangers in their extraneousness.
Then I began to process these pictures to make their extraneousness more incisive through a fusion with the real world. The tangible, scientific, objective world. I did this by involving the elements - water, air -, a tree, a fractal galaxy, the invisible side of the moon, the binary code...
And, at the end of all this, the fire burns Icarus' wings and perhaps, with him, also my impossible objectivity.
